  • Mediterranean Magic Winner - Carol Hicks

Carol Hicks thought she had had a lucky night at Campbelltown Golf Club – winning a meat tray and a few table picks.
Then came a bigger prize – a three-week holiday to Europe!
“I nearly fell off the chair,” Carol said.
“I was in absolute shock. I just sat there screaming and my friends were going ‘get up, quick quick’.”
The nurse, who works in palliative care at Campbelltown Hospital and has been a Campbelltown Catholic Club member for three decades, couldn’t hold back the tears.
“When my name [for the Mediterranean Magic promotion] was called we were ready to leave…we had got up from our chairs…but we got stopped talking to some friends on the way out and sat down again. And then, my name called out. I was crying.”
Carol had won from the second chance barrel at 8.04pm.
Her prize includes a 15-Day, Fly, Stay, Tour and Cruise Package around Europe including a few nights in Rome at the Millennium Grand and a sightseeing tour including the Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica.
Then, it’s a 10-night cruise on Celebrity Constellation from Rome to Barcelona in an ocean view cabin including all meals and entertainment.
That includes sightseeing tours in the ports visited, and $2000 in spending money as well.
Carol thanked the Catholic Club and said it was nice to see someone at “the Golfy” win the big prize.“We go there every Sunday afternoon and have a really nice group of friends we sit with.”
To make the European holiday even more enjoyable, Carol’s sister and her husband are going too, booking their tickets through the same agent.
A great result for a worthy winner.
